A message to modders and mod users
We cannot stop anyone from patching Convertit Pro, and we will not pretend otherwise. A short, honest request to the people who mod and use it.
To the modders and mod users,
We do not protect Convertit Pro against mods. With AI, cracking a license check takes an afternoon. Protection tools cost more than we can pay. And because the app runs entirely on your device, a server check would not help anyway.
So instead of a lock, a request: please do not mod Convertit Pro. If you use a modded copy, buy it when you can.
What went into it
Convertit Pro is built on two years and thousands of dollars of work, and most of that time went into learning things we did not know. How video codecs and containers actually work. Why the same file plays on one phone and fails on another. How to compress video without wrecking it, normalize loudness, and reduce noise. How to keep HDR10+ metadata intact through a conversion, which no other app on Google Play does.
Then all of it has to run offline, on a phone, across every Android version from 7.0 up and on devices we have never held. Every Android release breaks something, and every fix is ours to find.
Why it is more than code
Anyone can vibe-code an app like this now. Describe it to an AI, and in a weekend you have the same buttons and the same feature list.
Making those features actually work is the hard part. To know that a compressed video really kept its quality, that HDR metadata really survived, or that audio really stayed in sync, you have to understand what is happening under the hood. That understanding is what our two years went into. It is how we catch the mistakes that look fine on screen and only show up in the file.
And when something breaks, a machine is not accountable to your frustration. We are. When you write to us, we answer fast, keep it short and clear, and work on your issue until it is solved. Plenty of apps, paid ones included, leave issue reports sitting untouched for months. We do not want to be one of them. That is the part you pay for.
Why buying matters
The math is simple:
- Sales are our only income. Convertit Pro is one purchase: no subscriptions, no ads, no tracking, no data to sell. The free version of Convertit has never made a cent.
- Mods already ended it once. Modded copies pushed Convertit Pro’s sales close to zero, and we shut it down. We only came back because you asked.
- There are only a few of us. Every sale buys time for the next update. Every modded copy is time we do not have.
If you can afford Convertit Pro, please buy it. If you truly cannot, use it, and we hope it serves you well. As Arsi “Hakita” Patala, the developer of ULTRAKILL, put it:
